About the Role

The purpose of this role is to creates accurate, timely and insightful maintenance reporting and analysis that describes the maintenance performance across all maintenance metrics. Create and maintain analytical models, visualisations, data platforms and dashboards that support performance reporting to the business to improve maintenance performance.

Deliver value analytics models the solve BHP’s most complex maintenance problems including summarising and presenting findings/outcomes to leadership and key stakeholders for actioning.

Plans and performs analytics which allow the business user to make data driven decisions. Reporting to Lead Performance and Reporting, your core accountabilities will include:

  • Sources and validates SAP and operational performance data to allow delivery of routine and on-demand maintenance and business reporting and analysis to ensure standardisation of maintenance performance. 
  • Interrogates process and operational data in order to identify inconsistencies.
  • Provides input to continuously improve and refine reporting efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyse available data to understand, plan and deliver solutions required for the business problem.
  • Solution delivery with clear identification and justified prioritisation of issues.
  • Work with the stakeholder to define the problem, measure success and understand potential challenges.
  • Conduct and deliver analysis in conjunction with team and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and execute algorithms for data mining, machine learning and statistical analysis.
  • Build, update, enhance and maintain visualisations.
  • Deliver analyses in a clear, concise manner that can be understood by stakeholders.
  • Utilise SAP and operational performance data to deliver standardised maintenance performance reporting.
  • Actively enhance operational performance data quality, data reporting by identifying inconsistencies and finding improvement opportunities.
  • Engagement with wider groups within BHP and OEMs to validate, support and enhance equipment specifications.

About You

 You will be performing data interrogation and analysis, utilizing data analytics techniques to generate tangible business insights and recommendations. You should have a passion for uncovering solutions hidden in large datasets using structured

analytical problem-solving methodologies.

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:  

  • Expertise in Power BI is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in manipulating data and drawing insights from large datasets.
  • Using various data analytics or programming languages such as Python, R, SQL or other.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, a curious mind, and creative problem-solving skills to generate business value.
  • Experience in planning and executing work using a disciplined approach in an agile environment, including task management to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Location

In this full-time permanent position, you will be based at our Brisbane corporate office and working on Monday-Friday roster while flexible work arrangement is also offered.
