About the Role

The Nickel West Data Analytics team sits at the heart of the Nickel West Integrated Operations department. We provide governance for key systems, and analysis for the entire Nickel West supply chain. This makes our work dynamic and varied, covering several Mines, Concentrators, a Smelter and Refinery, and the Logistics systems that keep everything working together in harmony.

As Nickel West grows, we're improving our support and governance of key systems, including our Production Reporting, Production Accounting, Downtime Accounting and MES platform. This role presents an opportunity to shape and drive the development of Nickel West's data systems, and provide oversight to ensure these are accurate, transparent, robust and provide our people with the insights they need to make key decisions. You'll represent the end users as you work with the technology teams to develop and support these systems.

  • Production Reporting system governance, ensuring data reporting systems are robust and trusted sources of data with tailored reports to meet the needs of end users
  • MES Platform Governance, taking ownership of: user engagement and training; improvements; upgrades; and UAT.
  • Production and Downtime Accounting system governance, managing changes to our Production Accounting system to reflect current practice, and to be ready for a wave of exciting changes across the business.”

About You

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, mathematical/computer science
    • e.g. computer science, data analytics. engineering, science, mathematics, statistics, operations research or related analytics disciplines

Skills:

  • Mandatory
    • Attitude and passion are just as important as technical skills in this role. We are looking for someone with a passion for data who can use their skills to deliver reliable information and new insights. They need to be able work autonomously to deliver outcomes and deliverables as required, but also engage others and collaborate.
    • An understanding of Production Accounting and Reporting systems, and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) design/governance
  • Preferable
    • A working knowledge of the Mining/Resources/Processing/Energy Industry 
    • Exposure to some of the NiW data package suite (P2 Suite (Explorer, ShiftLog, Sentinel), SSRS, AMPLA)
    • Datamine Production Accounting
    • MineMarket or similar is desirable but not essential

     Experience:

  • Required
    • Understanding of Operations Systems Domain (material movement, production accounting, MES, Historians etc.)
    • Capable of working unsupervised and managing time effectively
  • Preferable
    • Understanding of mining, processing, chemical or manufacturing value chains
    • Exposure to real world applications, process mapping and documentation for Operations Systems Domains
