About the Role
This exciting role sits within the Corporate Communications team and reports to the Manager, Digital & Innovation. As a Digital Specialist, you will help manage BHP’s digital communications activities and enable our global communications team to leverage digital platforms to engage effectively with audiences around the world. You’ll take on key publishing, production and moderation responsibilities across BHP’s global digital channels, while collaborating with the broader Communications team to ensure our content and channels reflect global best practice.
What You’ll Do:
Content & Channel Management
- Source and develop content from across the business; brief SMEs, manage approvals and uphold brand and visual identity.
- Produce content across formats including short form video, photography, static imagery, carousels and documents.
- Support website updates (bhp.com) - publish content and maintain hygiene, accessibility and quality across BHP’s website.
- Support digital paid campaigns, including briefing agencies, preparing assets, monitoring performance and optimising creatives.
- Contribute to weekly content planning across global digital channels.
Community Management
- Own day to day community management across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X — including moderation, escalation, tone of voice, and risk controls.
- Monitor and moderate BHP’s digital channels to ensure safe, inclusive, and brand aligned engagement.
Insights, Reporting & Strategy
- Run digital monitoring and social listening to track sentiment, issues and emerging trends; surface actionable insights for the team.
- Build monthly dashboards, interpret analytics and recommend optimisation actions.
- Help drive the digital content strategy – contribute weekly to the digital content calendar, test content formats, benchmark performance, and partner with creators and agencies.
About You
- Experience in digital or social content, publishing and community management within a large or complex organisation.
- Hands on skills with creative tools such as Premiere/CapCut, Photoshop/Canva, and analytics or social listening platforms.
- Experience with Sitecore or other website content management systems (desirable).
- Strong writing, communication and creative production skills.
- Sound judgment on brand safety, privacy and moderation.
- Digital marketing experience, particularly in managing paid campaigns, is highly beneficial
