This role is a great opportunity for a successful individual to lead a dynamic team which is responsible for providing technical assurance and risk advisory function, pertaining to the rail networks civil assets, to the Rail Maintenance Division. Reporting to the Principal Advisor Asset Assurance, you will to:
- Provide first response maintenance engineering support to ensure high asset availability directly supporting the rail divisions targets and performance indicators.
- Oversee asset assurance functions including inspections and auditing of civil infrastructure and assets (specifically pertaining to cuttings & embankments and associated geotechnical risks, bridges, culverts, access roads and rail formation) to ensure asset state is as per the Code of Practice &/or Australian Standards and relevant business risks are contained & managed appropriately.
- Coordinate the development of scopes of work, quality documentation & timing / priority requirements (as per the Code of Practice) for rectification works and also ensuring suitable short-term containments are in place to contain immediate risks.
- Coordinate the development of a work bank for the quarterly and annual planning process.
- Coordinate engineering / assurance resources to support the delivery the program of remedial works which includes significant operating & capital expenditure each year.
- Ensure projects & associated construction activities are delivered to the required scope, quality and timing as per Rio Tinto Standards, relevant Australian standards, Rio Tinto HSE standards and policies and to meet business priorities.
- Provide routine reports and update metrics on progress of works to senior leadership.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of maintenance process and procedures in order to improve safety and asset performance.
- Analyse operating performance of assets and implement improvement projects.
- Carry out duties and accountabilities as defined under Rio Tino D3 Management of slope geotechnical hazards – D3 Site Representative. The role is responsible for the implementation and execution of, and conformance to the Standard at the site or asset.
What you will need for this roleTo succeed in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical) or relevant equivalency
- Experience in Geotechnical Hazard Management
- Experience in a civil maintenance role is desirable.
- Some experience managing teams / projects and internal & external stakeholders.
- Experience in a rail or mining environment is highly desirable
- Sound understanding of Railway Track & Civil Engineering concepts and principles
- Safety driven delivery focus
- Remote Pilot License (RePL) is desirable.
- 5+ Years Experience (Post Graduation) is preferred.
- C Class Drivers License
