About the Role
As a Specialist Engineering Data Improvement, your key focus is to improve the data quality of our blueprint through the transition of selected engineering information from documents to a data-centric environment in line with BHP’s engineering information management standards and framework. Reporting to Manager Engineering Information Management, your accountabilities will include:
- Work closely with key stakeholders to identify and prioritise critical equipment data used by operations and maintenance to be transitioned from existing documents to data (e.g. selected equipment data such as makes and models, currently captured in equipment registers).
- Work with a selected Asset’s stakeholders to remediate the identified data so that it is an accurate reflection of the plant and prove the value of this new way of working.
- Find and measure the tangible value that this clean data will bring for our stakeholders.
- Work with other stakeholders to scale up and apply the agreed opportunities after the initial proof of concept.
- Help develop and improve the existing engineering information management requirements, processes and practices to sustainably create and manage this data.
- Knows our EIM customers, build strong relationships and be obsessed with meeting their needs in the most effective and efficient manner.
- Support the activities of the EIM strategy and initiative as required.
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Deep understanding of the operating model and interaction between the processes, systems and people of Projects, Engineering and Operations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the systems and processes used for managing engineering information in an effective and efficient manner.
- Systematic and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Engineering degree qualification (or equivalent).
- Certification and experience in industry recognized improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and/or Lean will be beneficial.
- CAD 2D/3D experience and data management solutions.
Location and Roster
This role would preferably be based in our corporate office in Perth. However, Brisbane or Adelaide would also be considered for the right candidate. You will be working on Monday-Friday roster, while flexible work is also offered. Occasional site travel is required for this role.
