About the Role
A Specialist in the Minerals Australia Regional Procurement team, providing functional support to manage Engineering Consultancy Panels.
As a member of the Minerals Australia Procurement team within the Commercial function, you will be responsible for working collaboratively to plan, implement and manage the procurement of contracts according to the approved strategy with an overriding commitment to health, safety, social value, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
The team requires a diligent professional to provide ongoing procurement support for managing engineering consultancy panels. A core focus of this role will be to provide support for the refresh of the engineering consultancy panel, the development of a global framework agreement (GFA) strategy with core suppliers and managing stakeholders. You will be expected to foster collaborative relationships both internally and with external parties.

You will be required to travel to Company offices and sites from time to time as the project team requires.
Core Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this role is to drive world class sourcing and delivery of contracts through effective stakeholder management.
- Development of execution strategies, undertake sourcing, execute new contracts and manage contract variations compliant with the BHP Charter, Code of Conduct and Group Level Documents
- Managing Engineering Consultants relationship via quarterly meetings and regular communications to support effective collaboration
- Drafting of high-quality tender and contract documents to minimise ambiguity, thereby reducing opportunities for claims
- Providing contractor performance monitoring and reporting to support the Panels (KPI reporting, spend analytics, contract variations incl. claims management, and off-contract spend)
- Application of sound commercial judgement around application of contractual terms and conditions to ensure that contractors perform their obligations under the contract
- Stakeholder engagement – Build strong, trusted, cross-cultural relationships with key asset stakeholders, global functional stakeholders and suppliers
- Voice of the Customer - Identify opportunities to embed improvements whilst delivering in accordance with governance requirements, operational plans, BHP’s purpose and contract milestones.
About You
Ideally, you will have experience of working with project teams on contracts or procurement and managing stakeholders. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and a high standard of oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated experience with contract law and/or complex negotiations

Direct experience in managing engineering consultants, would be advantageous

Collaborative mindset and highly capable in building constructive long-term relationships.

Proven ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments.

Advanced communication skills enabling the influencing of a diverse stakeholder group (frontline to executive).

Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint
