About the Role
Reporting to the Environment Superintendent, you will provide specialist environmental advice and support to operational and leadership teams, ensuring environmental risks are effectively managed and compliance obligations are achieved.
This role offers a balance of field-based engagement and strategic environmental stewardship, partnering with stakeholders across site operations to drive continuous improvement and sustainable business outcomes. You will influence key environmental decisions, support operational excellence and help embed environmental accountability across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist environmental guidance to operational and project teams.
- Support environmental compliance with approvals, licences and statutory obligations.
- Monitor environmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead or support environmental incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Develop and review environmental management plans, procedures and risk assessments.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring, reporting and assurance activities.
- Build strong relationships with operational leaders and frontline teams to improve environmental outcomes.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions, audits and engagement with external stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of environmental initiatives aligned with business sustainability objectives.
About You
You are a proactive environmental professional with strong technical capability and a practical approach to environmental management. You enjoy working collaboratively with operational teams, influencing positive outcomes and driving continual improvement in a complex operating environment.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
- Experience in mining, resources, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance requirements and risk management principles.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience investigating environmental incidents and implementing effective solutions.
- A current Australian driver's licence.
