About MECoE

About the Role

As a Specialist Equipment Specifications you will report to the Lead Equipment Specifications. This role will provide expertise on mining fleet equipment specifications across BHP globally. You will be required to engage with external OEMs and internal BHP Stakeholders, building relationships where two-way communication is the standard. You will also be required to maintain equipment specifications to local statutory, legislative and relevant standards. You will help deliver safe, cost effective, reliable equipment to our Operations for our inclusive and diverse workforce to operate and maintain.

Reporting to the Lead Equipment Specifications, your accountabilities include:  

  • Systemise and Implement BHP Global Mining Equipment Specifications to support the equipment scoping, procurement and delivery processes.
  • Manage the MECoE library of equipment specifications, periodically reviewing these for new innovations, OEM updates, and other improvements for best practice.
  • Embedding equipment specifications for MECoE governed equipment to drive standardisation, cost reduction and improved performance throughout the equipment’s life cycle across BHP Operations (Minerals Australia and Minerals America).
  • Influence our major OEMs in the design and supply of equipment to meet BHP’s standards from factory.
  • Communicate improvements and changes to equipment specifications across BHP.
  • Provides governance to ensure MECoE equipment specifications are implemented.
  • Engages with the BHP Operations to manage exceptions for MECoE standard specifications.

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance and/or project delivery focused on mobile equipment. Operational experience will be highly regarded.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of financial modelling, e.g: maintenance cost.
  • Experience in applying your strengths in analysis and problem solving in order to develop business solutions.
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience of managing change through influence.
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple deliverables across stakeholders.
  • You will have proficient effective communication skills to collaborate with regional stakeholders and external partners (e.g. OEM's) to gather requirements and present recommendations.
  • It is essential that you are a team player who promotes and supports workplace diversity.
  • You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and SAP. 
  • You will have a focus on continuous improvement and be passionate about delivering exceptional results.

Location

This role will be performed from either our Brisbane, Adelaide, or Perth office, working Monday to Friday offering flexible conditions. Occasional site travel is required in this role and supported by the latest technology to engage with our sites around the Australia and the globe.
