About Mt Arthur Coal

Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.

About the Role

Based on site at Mount Arthur, NSW, the Workforce Transition Specialist will play a key part in developing strategies and framework to ensure the successful delivery of the transition to closure of the Mount Arthur coal mine site.

This permanent role is being offered on either a full time or part time basis, Monday to Friday basis with flexible working options.

In this role you will:

  • Develop integrated Equitable Workforce Transition initiative deliverables and integrate across the Mt Arthur Coal site
  • Identify critical activities, monitor the project schedule and drive continuous improvement and communicate key insights
  • Monitor and manage performance in line with safety standards, site requirements, budget and scope
  • Ensure HSE compliance and apply appropriate standards to deliver effective workforce transition initiatives

About You

You will have demonstrated experience as a mining specialist or supervisor. Project management or training coordination experience will be well regarded.

Importantly, you will have a high level of attention to detail, strong business acumen and the ability to build consultative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally.
