Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced Fixed Plant Specialist to coordinate servicing, repairing and maintenance of mechanical infrastructure at Ridgeway. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our fixed plant equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of fixed plant equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance planning and execution.
Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fixed plant equipment such as crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, and various processing equipment.
- Meeting company maintenance and production objectives by ensuring all mechanical installation and maintenance work is carried out to relevant Australian Standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and inventory of spare parts to support maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, operations, engineering, and procurement to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to maintenance teams to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards.
- Promote and maintain a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities. I.e. FCCCs, JSEA, Prestart inspections, hazcards and audits.
- Ensure all incidents, near miss and hazards are reported to Shift Supervisor.
About You
We are looking for a safety focused individual who has:
- A current mechanical or electrical trade qualification
- Experience as a fitter in fixed plant or underground mining
- Experience on various types of crushers, conveyor systems, dewatering systems, ventilation systems, pumps and more
- Demonstrate behaviour consistent with Newmont values and a proven record in promoting and managing safety in the workplace.
- Current Manual C Class Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to take ownership of issues associated with your role
- Results orientated with a commitment to delivering planned outcomes consistent with safe production
- Basic computer skills and experience with SAP or similar system would be advantageous
