About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and dynamic audit professional to join the BHP Internal Audit Team. Based out our Perth Office this role will be part of the team which delivers BHPs Global annual internal audit plan, mostly focused on Functional Risks. This role will report directly into the Manager Functional Audit in Perth.
The primary purpose of this role will be to deliver audits to a high degree of quality, including planning, execution and closure of audits.
Your primary areas of responsibility will include:
- Supports the delivery of the approved annual internal audit plan with high degree of quality, by assisting in the planning, execution and closure of engagements in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter, relevant BHP Requirements and professional and departmental standards
- Enhances engagement audit quality in the dimensions of improved planning, audit team preparation and timely delivery of audit reports and audit closure
- Assist in sourcing, trains and manages suitable auditors, where appropriate
- Manage logistics and safety of audit staff and contractors working in the field
- Participate in audits as a specialist auditor to audit selected functional scope in line with skill set and technical knowledge
About You
To be a success in the role you will require:
- An overriding commitment to Health, Safety and Environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Previous experience in organizational governance, preferably internal auditing for a large company or consulting firm
- Experience in functional risk governance is highly regarded
- Technical strengths will be complemented by an adaptable and team-spirited approach. A self-starter that strives to provide high standards of output and service to stakeholders internal and external to the Internal Audit team.
- The ability to travel for audits on a quarterly basis for several weeks at a time
