About the role

We are looking for a Specialist Fixed Plant Readiness to contributes at a tactical level to the design of operational readiness processes, practices, and tools to improve performance and facilitate the application of governance processes for leading practice with an emphasis on all fixed plant assets.

You’ll be part of a supportive team, supported by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work on a 5/2/4/3 FIFO roster with flexible working arrangements which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.

Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant Readiness, you will:

  • Creating Value through Optimizing and sustaining value with a strong commercial interest to ensure leading practices are implemented
  • Working collaboratively and fostering relationships with other departments to achieve wider business objectives
  • Getting results through providing advice and support through all project stages are being developed and implemented in line with Rio Projects endorsed methodology
  • Able to identify opportunities for improvement including safety in design, reliability, operations and maintenance of new and existing assets
  • Provide engineering guidance for the procurement of new equipment and components
  • Ensure compliance to RTIO standards and industry best practice

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Control Systems, Mechanical, Process/Chemical, or Mining Engineering
  • Experience in electrical protection, HV/LV switchgear, wide range of electrical component and practices, PLC and SCADA configurations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, able to build strong functional relationships with partners in a complex, matrix organisation.
  • Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills.
  • Mature approach to issues and strong decision making skills
  • Proven ability in safety leadership in the mining or relevant industry.
