About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated GIS Specialist who can work independently within a team environment to deliver and administer high quality geospatial outputs, high quality geoscientific data repositories and information management systems that are key assets used to assist in making business decisions, supporting work programmes, assisting in legal matters and for inclusion in external reporting.
This role is a great opportunity to work within a team of like-minded GIS professionals and be involved in supporting the growth of our business. Reporting to the GIS Delivery Superintendent – Tenure Management & GIS, State Agreement & Approvals, you will be:
- Capturing, correctly storing and validating spatial data.
- Improving the efficiency of data maintenance and identify opportunities to add value through data management.
- Ensure that data management workflows are rigorously controlled with strict QA/QC and be auditable.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to build stronger relationships and achieve better outcomes.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- 7+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Tertiary-level qualifications in GIS or related discipline
- Advanced ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise skills
- Advanced knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) software (e.g. FME)
- A good understanding of programming languages including Python, .Net or JavaScript
- High level of understanding of the datasets relating to the Tenure, Approvals, Heritage, Resource Development and Studies groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate strategic, lateral and creative thinking.
- Flexible and adaptive approach to fluctuating workloads, priorities and supporting other team members

Where you’ll be working
Perth based but with a working focus on supporting operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets supported by functional teams in the Perth hub: a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure – all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
