About the role

We are looking for a Specialist GIS System who has experience in maintaining and administering an Enterprise GIS.

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, safety conscious professional to join a multi-disciplined team. The ideal candidate will be required to undertake a range of activities related to maintaining and monitoring a complex GIS Enterprise to ensure RTIO's Enterprise GIS is functioning and meets the needs of the organisation.

Reporting to the Principal, GIS Data and Development within the Rio Tinto Iron Ore Tenure & GIS team you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining and administering a GIS Enterprise environment

• Monitoring system performance and tuning spatial services for optimal performance

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing system issues

• Supporting business system integrations complying with cyber security standards

• Providing technical and architectural framework advice for the development of spatial systems

• Documenting processes and code

What you’ll bring

• A tertiary qualification in GIS, Computer Science, or a related discipline

• 7+ years’ experience in a similar role

• Excellent understanding of ArcGIS Enterprise and FME Flow

• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Window Server platform

• Good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server

• Advanced skills in programming languages and version control (such as REST, SQL, Python)

• Excellent problem solving skills

• Understanding of the technical and architectural framework for the development of spatial systems

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
