Location
You will be based out of our Perth Office with regular site travel required to various mine sites within WAIO as required by business demand. The roster is 5 days on, 2 days off, based in Perth (combination of office and WFH). Alternate rosters can be discussed on a flexible work arrangement.
About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent GTS Dams and Governance, we are seeking a talented individual to join a team responsible for providing technical direction, governance and licensing support to the business on safe storage and handling of dangerous goods.
Supported by a mature, experienced team. The diverse range of work will include:
- Provide governance function to procedures and processes relating to Mixed Class Dangerous Goods (predominantly Gases, flammables and corrosives) within the asset
- Ownership and updated of key management plans, work processes and training content.
- Preparation of reporting documentation to regulatory bodies relating to Mixed Class Dangerous.
- Providing technical support to operations personnel relating to Mixed Class Dangerous Goods to support the existing management plans and processes.
- Identify and implement improvement and standardisation opportunities within WAIO.
- Complete business updates in line with legislative changes including documents, stakeholder engagement and implementation.
- Development into secondary and relief support on governance requirements outlined in the Combustible liquids and the Blasting Operations Management Plans
- Support control owners in execution of critical control execution inspections and improvements.
The team has a strong focus on technical development, and complementing formal training provides mentoring with a vastly experienced team and development pathways into more senior roles within the business.
About You
- You will have the ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders
- A safety orientation, with aptitude to interpret and apply (or willing to learn) legislation and procedures into operations.
- Experience in a safety role, warehousing or drill and blast role would be beneficial.
- Technical knowledge in either or all of the following is preferable
- Safe management of mixed class DG in warehousing and workshop environment
- Australian Standards as approved under Dangerous Goods Act.
- Diesel as a dangerous good
- Dangerous Goods and Safety Act, Regulations and Codes of practice.
- Work health and Safety Regulations as the apply to operations
