About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse / Paramedic (APHRA registered) to join our northern operations team supporting our clinic.
Your primary role is to manage the clinical care of the workforce whilst contributing and supporting the strategic management of emergency response related issues, provisions and initiatives across the organisation (e.g. crisis and emergency management etc.). Reporting to the Supervisor Security Emergency Management, you will be fully supported by our multi-disciplinary team.
This role will be offered as a FIFO role 7:7.
The role will involve:
- Clinical assessment and management of injuries, medical conditions and emergency care of workers.
- Participating in Fitness for Work Programs (drug and alcohol testing)
- Delivering and continuously improving the quality of reporting of health information
- Upholding Poisons Permit requirements, including managing access of clinicians on the permit, performing required drug counts, checks and documentation for Permit owner.
- Responsible for overall management of medical centre including equipment checks, stock take, ensuring maintenance and calibrations are carried out as per clinical governance requirements.
- ESO/ERT Medical training and development.
- On - Call work is also part of this role supported by an effective fatigue management process
About You
You will be an experienced health professional with an Emergency Care or on-road Paramedic background or have worked in a similar role at a remote health environment. Strong communication, problem, solving and organisational skills will be an asset, as will your attention to detail and your talent to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You will also have:
- Qualifications and experience as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic - current registration with AHPRA
- Advanced Life Support – current
- Accredited Drug and Alcohol Collector
- Practical experience in the dispensing and administration of medication under the guidelines of a Poison Permit
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work behaviours and adhere to BHP core values
- Ability to work independently, as a sole-practitioner, for extended periods
- Manual drivers licence
- Good computer skills; with knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- A team ethic with the enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills
