About the Role

The HR Governance and Risk team has recently been established to partner proactively across the HR function as well as the Global Business Services HR function to enhance governance practices and uplift the risk culture.  The purpose of the Specialist role is to provide key support executing and delivering various activities that will  enhance risk management capability and governance processes across the HR function. 

Reporting to the Manager HR Governance & Risk, this role involves engagement with a broad range of internal stakeholders & will work closely with colleagues across HR, GBS HR, HSE, Legal & Finance. 

The coverage of the team is wide and varied and this role will support the oversight & governance across a range of HR related areas including HR Global Standards, policy/documentation, processes, operating model, employment & payroll requirements. Your accountabilities include;  

  • Supporting relevant stakeholders to design & implement, and execute governance & assurance activities in relation to end-to-end HR Global Standards, policy, HR documentation, process & operating model.
  • Reporting & monitoring of risk management activities for HR.
  • Overseeing & supporting various positive assurance activities to validate compliance across HR processes, with a particular focus on payroll controls & compliance.
  • Supporting the execution of verification activities for HR SOX controls.
  • Responsible for overseeing the governance framework for HR documentation (policies, processes) & MyHR+ (i.e. HR intranet).
  • Advising content owners across HR to ensure policies & other documentation remains up-to-date and is consistently developed/written in accordance with HR document management standards.
  • Supporting the coordination & development of reporting obligations for HR e.g. HR’s contribution to the Annual Reporting suite.

About You

As a successful candidate you will be able to understand the various HR disciplines and teams and their interactions and interdependencies with one another.  You will also possess the following:

  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret HR policies, employment legislation & industrial instruments.
  • Experience & understanding of risk management frameworks & practices.
  • Clear knowledge & experience with HR systems & processes, including payroll, within a globally complex business.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or other relevant discipline. 
  • Ability to coordinate work and deliverables with multiple groups.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence.

Location and Roster

There is flexibility for this role to be based at our Australian corporate offices in Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide. You will be working on Monday-Friday and flexible work is also offered.
