Specialist - HSE Learning & Development

About the Role
The Specialist HSE Learning and Development role will support the development of the HSE learning approach and the continuous improvement of established programs using the latest technology. The role will provide coaching, incorporate adult learning methodologies and support the improvement of learning and assessment practices through the exploration of new methodologies in education.
What You’ll Do

• Support operations in the development of a Safety-focused culture through collaborative and effective learning and development programs
• Support the Principal HSE L&D in the development, implementation and ongoing review of key learning and development initiatives in line with Whitehaven Coal’s WHSE Strategy
• Coordinate the facilitation of the HSE induction program and associated training plans
• Facilitate the generic and open cut and underground induction on a weekly basis
• Support the emergency management response training throughout the company
• Coach and developing leaders in the HSE leadership principles and their application to use the tools they have been trained in

What You’ll Bring

• Ideally 3+ years of Health, Safety, Learning & Development experience in mining or similar
• Knowledge of legislation and statutory requirements in NSW
• Advanced Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent problem-solving skills and great attention to detail
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or similar, or relevant experience
• Systems focus with an ability to plan and organise information
