ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on 9-day fortnight at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As the Specialist Hygiene your role is responsible for contributing to the development, governance and continuous improvement of Worsley’s health standards, procedures, tools, and programs to enable the operations to effectively manage hygiene risk. Attendance and provision of support to all operational locations will be necessary.
This role provides specialist support and advice to operation-based and functional teams on hygiene management aspects to support:
- Adherence to the Global Hygiene Standard.
- Legal compliance and material-risk mitigation at the operational level
the delivery of the functional business plan, hygiene authorisations and strategic improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and continuously improve Worsley’s hygiene standards, procedures, tools and programs to enable the operations to effectively manage safety risk.
- Provide input into the strategic direction for hygiene management to reduce long-term risk exposure, support legal compliance and promote enduring hygiene outcomes.
- Actively carry out sampling activities, analyse hygiene data, including event management and assurance outcomes, to identify improvement opportunities relating to Worsley hygiene standards, systems, processes and material risks.

- Develop, support and deploy Health and Hygiene education across the operation to working groups.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Qualifications for this role;
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma (Science / Safety / Engineering / Similar)
- Professional who has guided, developed and influenced practice in the H&S area with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry. (i.e. mining or heavy industry).
- Requires knowledge of key concepts, theories and practices related to the effective management of H&S related risks.
- Proven skillset in developing and executing operational practice within Health & Safety.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operational environment in health or hygiene.
