About the Role

Reporting to the Production Superintendent you will maximise our already strong process of standardised work within our Operations. You will also look to uplift Production and Maintenance by focusing on the equipment and the performance of our people. This role will see you identify and coordinate with BOS routines and continuous improvement initiatives with the opportunity to add real value in safety and productivity to our Production crews.

The roster will be 5/2 & 4/3 with the option of FIFO, but is open to discussion for the right candidate. Your key deliverables include:  

  • Demonstrate safety leadership by supporting site BHP Operating System (BOS) routines, the Field Leadership program to continuously improve safety performance;
  • Monitor and analyse OS production and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities;
  • Apply problem-solving techniques and root-cause analysis to enable continuous improvement by eliminating waste, hazards and variability;
  • Analysing the Production team's performance, establishing benchmarks and identify and implement improvement initiatives supporting business priorities;
  • Coach site Production Leaders and frontline employees in the application of all Standardised Work and improvement practices;
  • Diagnose, plan, develop and deliver Standardised Work packages for our Production operations. Monitor, report and perform lessons learnt post implementation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced candidate that has proven resource industry and site-based experience and leadership potential. You will be innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others and have a strong ability to lead change.

Experience with business improvement methodologies such as BOS, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing, and use of data management and analysis tools such as Spotfire or Corvus, would be highly beneficial. Relevant tertiary qualifications would be highly valued.  

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:  

  • Overriding commitment to safety;
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions;
  • Ability to engage with all levels of the business from frontline employees to senior management;
  • Ability to build and report on deployment statistics and performance;
  • Proficient use of production systems, MS Office suite and mining software, including Vulcan.
