About the Role
As a Specialist Improvement, your focus is to promote and support the continuous improvement efforts of Engineering and NPI at Olympic Dam in creating value.
This role will see you utilising your excellent analysis and data background to break down complexities and tell a story.
Your innovative approach will help up us realise value to our business – focusing on breakthrough improvement activities, which are high value and high impact, creating sustainable solutions. You will also provide support around our BHP Operating System.
This role is based in Adelaide on a Monday-Friday basis.
This role focuses on supporting high-value cross-department initiatives and activities, including:
- Leading the analysis and valuation and business case development of improvement priorities that will enable our financial year targets.
- Deliver improvements projects, from the initial diagnostic phase through to implementation on sustainability, culture and capability, social value and cost.
- Role model BOS philosophy, principles, and tools and assure quality in its application to drive significant improvements.
- Condensing complex strategic themes into digestible formats for written tactical reports and multi-level presentations.
- Facilitating, coaching and guiding teams to apply the correct methodologies and standards to drive successful delivery outcomes in line with business requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone who can manage complexity and ambiguity, think strategically, solve problems collaboratively, and analyse, synthesise and communicate insights using data to drive real operational change.
Your exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail - creativity, curiosity and ingenuity will ensure success in this role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, allowing you to build relationships across operations and functions.
To be successful you will have the following:
- Demonstrated experience as in a business analyst role with experience in project management
- Astute business acumen, predicative analysis, strategy development, strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – in a variety of oral and written formats, interpersonal and influencing capability to deliver value through an ‘influence-based’ role, with collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
- Capable of engaging effectively with a wide and varied stakeholder group – having appreciation of diverse viewpoints and ways of working
- Ability to coach stakeholders on use of appropriate improvement tools to identify opportunities that unlock value
- Experience with process mapping is required
- Experience with SAP, Power BI and Sharepoint will be a highly advantageous
