About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual to take on the role of Specialist Improvement based within our Operations Services Production team. Reporting directly to the OS Superintendent Production, this role is responsible for the safety, standardisation and productivity related projects for the production team at Olympic Dam. The roster will be 5/2 - 4/3 with the option of DIDO/FIFO and flexibility to work a day from home. Your duties will include:  

  • Fostering a positive & productive working relationships and team culture
  • Set and maintain clear safety standards within the leadership team

  • Lead safety investigations and risk assessments

  • Build capability through coaching, mentoring and provide technical advice and support OS production supervisors

  • Lead and support continuous improvement opportunities

  • Analysing and reporting on daily, weekly and monthly performance

  • Monitor and review the Production team's performance, establishing benchmarks, defining trends, identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives supporting business priorities

About You

We are looking for an experienced candidate that has proven resource industry and leadership potential. You will be innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others and have a strong ability to lead change. The successful candidate will possess the following:  

  • Overriding commitment to safety;

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions;

  • Ability to engage with all levels of the business from frontline employees to senior management;

  • Project Management and/or engineering experience is preferred

  • Strong communication skills and a track record of achieving results through using your influence

  • The ability to successfully lead and work within a team environment and build effective working relationships

  • Effectively identifying ways to eliminate hazards, waste and variability

  • Experience with business improvement methodologies such as BOS, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing, and use of data management and analysis tools such as Spotfire or PowerBI, would be highly beneficial. 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications would be highly valued.
