About the Role
BHP Operations Services (OS) is looking for a Specialist Instructor Leadership Coach to support the progress and expansion of key leadership capability programs. Reporting to the Superintendent Leadership and Development, this role will be accountable for delivery of delivery of the OS LIFT program which provides on-the-job targeted coaching for frontline Supervisors across our Maintenance and Production operations. Utilising a combination of observation, feedback, education and coaching, this role enables customised support to uplift leader capability.
This role is predominantly site based on a commute arrangement. Flexibility options for roster and home location will be discussed through the selection process.
Your key deliverables include, but are not limited to:
- Work alongside frontline Supervisors to observe, coach and upskill in both leadership skills and technical elements;
- Liaise with senior leaders to share learnings and embed capability improvements;
- Scope and develop individual development activities for LIFT participants throughout the program and post completion to support ongoing improvement;
- Develop and facilitate education and learning programs/ workshops for LIFT participants to create consistent performance and expectations across geographically dispersed teams and embed core activities;
- Support embedment of BOS and Mastery practices for OS leaders;
- Identify emerging trends in frontline leadership capability and implement improvements;
- Collaborating with key stakeholders and ensure integration across other OS and BHP leadership programs, capability and culture priorities.

About You
We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership and communication skills. Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships and your ability to quickly engage, build rapport and connect with others will be an absolute priority. Your commitment to making a real difference to the capability of our leaders and overall business performance will be highly regarded.
Additionally, you will be, or have:
- Experience in people leadership in a dynamic work environment;
- Leadership coaching skills or have provided coaching through the course of a past role;
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to engage and build relationships across multiple layers of the organisation from senior management to frontline leaders and technicians;
- Very good organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team;
- Good experience and skills in the use of technology in managing work processes, data capture and performance reporting;
- Exposure to, or participation in BHP Operating System (BOS) and OS Mastery Program will be highly regarded;
- Prior exposure to a heavy industrial environment (i.e. Mining, Manufacturing) is additionally beneficial but not essential.
