About the role
We are looking for an integrated operations specialist with a high level of Mining Operations & Control Room experience and knowledge to join our Operations Centre Control Team.
The Specialist Integrated Operations is responsible for identifying production risk and opportunity through the use of state-of-the-art monitoring processes and data driven decision making.
The focus is on ensuring that short and long term production impacts are clearly understood and actioned, and that weekly and monthly production plans are achieved across the four bauxite mines. Working a Monday through Friday roster in the Brisbane CBD and reporting to the Superintendent Operating Centre, you will be:
- Monitoring OC metrics across all sites to ensure that both Operating Efficiency (OE) and Haul Cycle Efficiency is optimised.
- Dynamic Dispatch support, training and compliance monitoring
- Regular review of Wenco codes to ensure accuracy of status reporting
- Regular check-ins with the Mine Control team to provide coaching and support.
- Escalation and actioning of process non-conformances as required
- Highly experienced in mining operations with a key understanding in the coordination and execution of a production plan.
- Delivering bauxite supply chain optimisation, with key stakeholders being Production Planning, Mining Operations, HEQ, Asset Health, and Dynamic Scheduling
- Influencing both internal and external stakeholders in best for business decision making
- Monitor performance data, coordinate and action short term mitigation plans that deliver quality, tonnes and efficiency
- Partnering with planning, control execution and dynamic scheduling teams to review performance against plan
- Assigning clear actions and objectives, demonstrating an understanding of how these achieve business objectives for the entire supply chain
- Where required making trade off decisions across the bauxite value chain, within defined parameters across the 24|7 operations, with the visibility and data required
- Work collaboratively with operations and operations centre team members to ensure productive and efficient plan output
- Identify sustainable improvement opportunities to simplify work
- Providing coaching, leadership and support as the most senior technical role in the Operations Centre control team
What will you bring
To be successfully considered for this role, its advantageous if you have:
- Mining operations experience
- Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering and or Business | Commerce
- A high level of computer literacy and excellent verbal communication skills
- Proven leadership experience or a similar position of influence
- Honed stakeholder engagement skills and demonstrated capability to work in a dynamic environment
- LEAN / Six Sigma training
- Production Planning knowledge | experience
- Exposure to control rooms and or heavy industry
