About the Role

As the Specialist IT Support, your purpose is to provide Level 1 desktop support for all I.T hardware deployments and related issues (i.e.: laptops, desktops, printers, mobile field devices, networks) with assisting other teams such as Enterprise I.T teams, TROC, Projects and Asset owners. Your accountabilities include:  

  • Delivers effective and timely responses to service requests, resolves incidents/problems and manages the Technology service catalogue, including;
    • IT reliability and diagnostic support on hardware devices.
    • Support for on-site of IT incidents / tasks / minor works.
    • IT logical support (pxe images, networks).
    • Point of Contact for Site IT Technologies  
  • Builds and deploys packages for installation, manages patching, troubleshoots end-user devices, and conducts low-level asset and inventory management. 
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems. 
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation. 
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste. 
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will possess a Trade/Tertiary qualification in Information Technology and/or can demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in site IT Support.
  • Demonstrate experience with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Standards to achieve acceptable reliability.
  • Hold a valid Australian “C” class driver’s license.
  • Ability to maintain strong operational network relationships including collaboration with all Stake holders.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in interpersonal relationships and communication skills
  • Understanding of ITIL principals.
  • Ability to identify problems, raise tickets and participate in the resolution process. 
  • Exposure in Management of ServiceNow ticketing system and Asset Register and tracking.

Having any of these certificates would be favourable but not essential:

  • Microsoft, Cisco or ITIL qualification/certificate.
  • STEM qualification or relevant trade certificate 3

Location and Roster

You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on a fly-in fly-out 8 Days, 6 Off roster.   Our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities, and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning to help you unwind, relax and sleep well.  [We know the more time you can spend at home the better, so in addition to our flights out of Perth, our Jimblebar and Newman operations are now offering those that live in WA’s beautiful South West region direct flights from Busselton.
