About BMA Goonyella
Goonyella Riverside is a large open cut coking coalmine in the Bowen Basin located 30km north of
Moranbah. Goonyella Riverside Mine utilises both Dragline and Truck & Shovel stripping methods to uncover 3 seams of coal and is processed through 2 prep plants. Pioneering autonomous haulage in open cut coal mining we are continuing to position our operation as a global leader in innovation and technology in the mining industry.
About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling, as the Lead Haulage Mine Scheduling you will be engaged in haulage planning and design for the worlds largest autonomous fleet in coal. You will be accountable for strategically planning haulage of the prestrip fleet ranging from weekly to budget level horizons and ensuring plans are executable. Using your already solid mine planning skills and experience you will work closely with the wider mine planning team and operations to strive for safe and efficient mine plans that are aligned to business requirements.

In this role you will:
- Put safety above all else and strive to remove hazards;
- Mentor engineers in best practice;
- Deliver haulage plans that meet business needs in a timely fashion;
- Communicate model outcomes and your vision/strategy to Production Coordinators and Operations execution teams;
- Participate in the investigation of reported events for Production Planning;
- Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives;
- Build cross-functional relationship with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functions.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education background in Mining Engineering with previous experience working at an operations level. Your demonstrated experience working in mine planning teams particularly planning and scheduling for truck and shovel will see you succeed in this role.
As well as your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will have demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and able to communicate at all levels. A strong working knowledge of design tools (SPRY/Deswik/Vulcan), Microsoft Office, software packages are desirable. You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
