About the Role

We are seeking a Specialist Leadership and Development to support the progress and expansion of key leadership capability programs. Reporting to the Superintendent Leadership and Development in the Operations Services (OS) Team, this role will be accountable for the implementation and coordination of frontline leadership activities across our Maintenance and Production operational teams. The position will cover the breadth of learning content development, program coordination, participant liaison and stakeholder management. Furthermore, the role will provide secondary support to peer roles across the leadership capability portfolio. Additionally, this role will support reporting and integration activities to demonstrate program performance and value delivered to OS and BHP.  

This role is predominantly office based with minimal travel requirements. Flexibility options for roster and location will be discussed through the selection process.

Your key deliverables include:

  • Designing effective and sustainable learning programs for OS, in particular the Future Leaders Program focused on emerging frontline leaders;
  • Oversee the delivery of programs including coordination of workshops, skills verifications and competency completions with support from Maintenance and Production subject matter experts;
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop and deliver resources and methods for upskilling front-line teams to work consistently to the established Standards and Legislative requirements;
  • Periodic monitoring and reporting of program and participation performance to deliver value to OS;
  • Working with, and across the OS stakeholders to implement and sustain OS leadership programs;
  • Provide support to wider OS Leadership & Development portfolio of programs as required.

  • Have strong communication and influencing skills and proven ability to engage and build relationships across multiple layers of the organization from senior management to front-line leaders and technicians;
  • Maintain good organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently, and as part of a team.
