About the Role

This is a new role based in Perth with ad hoc site travel reporting to the Superintendent Planning in Nickel West Integrated Operations. This position provides the interface between Scheduling and Logistics, Operations, Production Planning and Directional Studies, to ensure longer-term Logistics capabilities are in place to support delivery of our ramp up aspirations.

Key Responsibilities include:  

  • Ownership of the logistics requirements for Directional Studies to ensure alignment between current plans and future growth options.
  • Understanding the capability profile for all inbound logistics movements.
  • Maintaining a detailed understanding of long-term demand profiles at each site to ensure logistics movements and buffer stocks are scaled to meet production deliverables.
  • Optimisation of logistics processes to improve overall efficiency and manage risk across the business.
  • Liaising with sites to understand project outlooks and providing logistics inputs and impacts for growth plans. To learn more about BHP click here 

About You

:

The ideal candidate will be excited by dynamic supply chain operations and enjoy liaising with different stakeholders. You will see the big picture and have proven ability at problem solving and improving processes.

The following traits will be highly regarded:

  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment calmly and professionally.
  • While not essential, previous experience with any one or more of the following will help you hit the ground running:
  • logistics and bulk haulage operations including truck and road transport.
  • manage a wide range of stakeholders spanning supply chains.
  • oversight of personnel including service contractors performing logistics functions, and an appreciation for the risks and controls to keep them safe.
