The purpose of this role
To develop, maintain and continuously improve critical equipment condition, knowledge and maintenance practices. Provide the key link between the Maintenance Analysis & Improvement teams and the Production/Maintenance execution Teams. Provide technical support to Maintenance Engineers.
Ensure the effectiveness of work strategies and work plans, statutory and legislative requirements. Provide organisational governance in the application of work management processes and promote understanding and compliance to work management principles.
Location Collie
Refinery - This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes)
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.
Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities are to:
Safety & Risk
- Identify all equipment requiring inspections and repairs based on legislative and statutory requirements.
- Develop and review maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of Safety Critical Equipment
Technical
- In conjunction with Reliability and Maintenance Engineers, maintain a detailed understanding of critical equipment shortfalls and work to develop optimised solutions to eliminate root causes.
- Investigate and analyse Work Management process execution and process performance aimed at maintaining and improving Work Management effectiveness
- Develop systems to quantify, track and eliminate waste in maintenance activities and expenditure
Leadership
- Supports the Maintenance Execution team in the planning and execution of work within your assigned area
- Provide input into the development of the maintenance budget based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies.
- Provide expertise to review, or support, maintainability, and reliability specifications, as well as taking part in the handover activities of new systems commissioned by the Capital Projects team
About You
- A minimum trade/operations experience of between 5 and 10 years
- Detailed knowledge of procedures and concepts in maintenance and associated strategy
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels including internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques
- Proficiency in software such as SAP and Microsoft Office will be highly regarded
- Ability to provide diversity of thought within the existing team
