We are looking for a Specialist – Maintenance Excellence Coach - Engineering to play a key role in delivering a transformational program across Rio Tinto iron ore and coastal sites.

This role is a great opportunity for a high calibre individual to join Maintenance Excellence and lead our engineering and maintenance teams on an improvement journey across Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Hydrocarbon Management and Condition Monitoring disciplines.

Reporting to the Principal – Maintenance Excellence Coaching Lead and working in a collaborative team, you will be:

• Coaching and influencing engineering and maintenance teams to deliver results quickly and with maximum value.
• Leading a shift change in our Engineering teams like, defect elimination and RCA effectiveness.
• Assisting in the facilitation of our transformation program, including delivery of training and workshops.
• Assisting to create a site culture of sustainable improvement.
• Verifying and reviewing progress and compliance for sustainability.
• Coaching our engineers to interpreting costs and production drivers to inform strategic thinking and the evaluation and prioritisation of initiatives.
• Passionate to develop and improve up and coming engineers.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• Multi-disciplined Engineering background preferability in reliability or maintenance
• At least 5 years’ post graduate experience (preferably in heavy industry)
• The ability to influence and coach colleagues across various disciplines and projects
• Experience in RCA methodologies such as PROACT, Apollo etc.
• Active communications skills to be a key driver in continuous improvement
• The ability to quickly form trusting relationships and demonstrate genuine passion for change processes.
• Advanced Microsoft office skills
• The ability to work autonomously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience in influencing senior site stakeholders.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Experience in reliability modelling will be advantageous.
• Experience in RCM, QCO, TPM etc. Will be advantageous.
