About the role
We are looking for an experienced improvement professional who have a keen interest in maintenance to join our team in the Specialist Maintenance Improvement role in Maintenance planning and engineering.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with effective communication and leadership skills to influence and motivate others to embrace improvement in maintenance process and delivery.
Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Planning and Engineering, and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will:
- Work closely with our partners on medium to long term strategic improvement initiatives with a preference for face-to-face engagement rather than email
- Have a keen eye for detail and ability to take data and generate key insights and articulate pathways forward
- Establish strong understanding of asset management processes in particular work management and reliability processes and systems
- Understand current state of AM process at their site against RT AM standards. Use a range of diagnostic tools, interpret site metrics and seek feedback from site personnel
- Use current state assessments (CSAs), support development and implementation of a site improvement plan to address key gaps in quality of site AM processes
- Provide on the job coaching to site and MP&E personnel to develop greater understanding and capability in AM processes and asset risk to ensure best practice is implemented consistently and sustained across all sites
- Actively pursue, and act as a point of liaison, to improve quality of the site’s master data (BOM, FLOC, task lists and so on), and quality and productivity of the site’s AM system use per list of AM process elements
- Engage with AM process and systems leads to provide AM governance at site level
- Lead site improvement projects to optimise maintenance and asset management in order to deliver plant reliability and availability
- Coach maintenance leaders and team members to improve their maintenance and asset management acumen
- Promote and drive standardised reports and best practice tools with your peer group

- Demonstrated experience in an operations, maintenance, engineering, or reliability role within any heavy industry
- The ability to be flexible, adaptable, and resilient
- Ability to articulate, influence, drive and have effective discussions on the current work management programs with the Supervisor and Superintendent
- Ability to identify, articulate and work through improvement initiatives on site performance and gaps including improvement plans
- Provide regular and effective feedback to the sites where performance is substandard whilst maintaining a functional and effective relationship
- Have conversations regarding non-conformance or relationship issues focusing on being solutions focused to drive business outcomes
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience
