Specialist Maintenance Readiness - Fixed Plant

  • Work in the project space across Paraburdoo operational mine site
  • Contribute to sustaining mine operations
  • Perth based with regular site commute and a move to FIFO in 2023.
  • This role is also open to candidates who are currently residing in Paraburdoo.

About the role

We are looking for a Specialist Maintenance Readiness for the Fixed Plant and Asset Management Team to work in Operational Readiness at Paraburdoo on the Western Range project.

The multi-billion-dollar project for Paraburdoo introduces new overland conveying systems, primary crushing plant, and non-processing infrastructure (NPI). Operational Readiness activities will support the mining and processing operations with implementation commencing in 2022 and commissioning from 2023 to 2025.

This role is a great opportunity to be an integral part of a small, vibrant Operational Readiness team. Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant and Asset Management, this role will focus on Asset Management activities to be delivered for Fixed Plant and NPI as part of the project with the following responsibilities:

  • Updating existing and creating new functional location structures, bill of materials, maintenance tactics, task lists etc.
  • Ensuring maintenance plans are ready to be activated prior to commissioning
  • Identifying and requesting repairable, rotable inventory, operational inventory and specialised tooling
  • Identifying and organising inventory of spares based on asset criticality
  • Assisting with budget forecasting for new assets
  • Implementation of condition monitoring strategy for new assets
  • Document statutory and compliance requirements as appropriate (classified plant and confined space register)
  • Adoption and application of shutdown management processes for construction of new plant

About you

  • Tertiary or trade qualifications in relevant engineering discipline with experience in execution and planning of asset tactics
  • Knowledge of all aspects of asset management and engineering service processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including good oral and written skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Mature approach to problem solving and strong decision-making skills
  • Proficient in SAP, CMMS in respect to Asset Management
  • A Current "C Class" WA Driver’s license

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Exposure to large scale project activities in a Fixed Plant and/or NPI capacity
  • Exposure to reliability programs, such as PMO, FMECA, etc.
  • An ability to convert technical knowledge into practical instruction

Where you will be working

If the successful candidate is based in Perth, the role will initially be based at our Perth CBD premises, working a 40-hour week Monday to Friday. The role will require site time to gain and understanding of the existing Greater Paraburdoo operations, build a network with existing site personnel and coordinate project site work. The role will then transition to an ongoing FIFO roster once construction and commissioning commences on site mid-2023. 

If the successful candidate is based in Paraburdoo, the role will be on site at Paraburdoo, working a 40-hour week Monday to Friday.

This role is planned to transition into the Paraburdoo Operations team at completion of the project.
