About the Role
We are currently recruiting and seeking applications from highly motivated talent with experience in the maintenance, engineering or resource industries, who are interested in upcoming opportunity within the MECoE’s Maintenance Strategy Governance (MSG) team.
As part of the MSG team, you will improve the way equipment is maintained and support defect elimination through one of our core processes, Product Management.
In this role you will act as the link between Operations, Engineering, Maintenance teams and major OEMs such as Caterpillar and Komatsu to identify recurring equipment issues, prioritise improvement opportunities and drive sustainable solutions.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong haul truck maintenance, reliability, or engineering experience who enjoys solving complex equipment problems, influencing stakeholders and delivering improvements at scale.
About You
-
You are likely to be a strong fit for this role if you have experience in heavy mobile equipment and enjoy working across technical, operational and commercial interfaces to improve equipment performance.
- Strong technical knowledge of mining haul trucks, preferably Caterpillar and/or Komatsu fleets.
- Experience in maintenance, reliability, engineering, asset management, or a closely related discipline within mining or heavy industry.
- Ability to engage confidently with OEMs and challenge, influence and collaborate to achieve improved equipment outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility across all organisational levels.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments, create clarity and drive decisions through influence rather than authority.
- Strong analytical skills with a practical approach to identifying issues, evaluating options and generating business value.
- Understanding of the broader maintenance ecosystem, including interactions between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Planning.
- Tertiary engineering qualification or trade qualification, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on safety, outcomes and customer value.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering sustainable results.
Highly Regarded
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Asset Performance Management (APM), Standardised Work (SW), Downtime Accounting Systems (DAS) and CMMS platforms such as 1SAP.
- Experience working with reliability and performance improvement methodologies within mining mobile fleets.
