About the Role

We are currently seeking Specialist to join the Mine Strategy Integration team at Olympic Dam Mine as a result of internal moves and successful development planning. Reporting to Superintendent Mine Strategy Integration, the purpose of this role is to effectively integrate business strategy into the Mine’s operational plans, through effective business processes, analysis, and engagement. Working closely with the Mine Leadership Team and the General Manager, you will support the execution of all business processes, and ensure projects that change the ways of working at the Mine are executed as per user requirements. You will have the opportunity to support identification, development and execution of all major initiatives and projects relating to the Mine, through using a continuous improvement mind-set to influence the way the Mine business performs. This role will focus on reporting and engagement processes, capital project integration and ensuring key activities are appropriately captured, prioritised, scheduled, governed & delivered within the program of work aligned with the Mine’s Operational Roadmap and Operational Plan. In this role you will:

  • Provide support and assurance for all business processes at the Mine, inclusive of Corporate Alignment Planning Cycle deliverables and Leadership Team Lean Management processes and routines (BHP Operating System).
  • Support the development of the Operational Roadmap and Operational Plan.
  • Work in a team to coordinate and prepare for external or internal audits and visits.
  • Ensure robust planning, tracking and reporting/monitoring for delivery of actions and initiatives.
  • Manage high levels of stakeholder engagement with members of the Management Team, Superintendents, and Functional Partners.

About You

You are ready for the next step in your career to apply your analytical and operational focused skill set into a more strategic environment. Your experience working in complex underground mining operations, your technical knowledge and/or tertiary qualifications in engineering, geology, finance, law, or other professional/STEM skills will be highly regarded but not mandatory. Your career history will testify to your ability to manage complexity and ambiguity, think analytically to support strategic outcomes, apply sound judgement and solve problems collaboratively.

Recognised as a high performer who is motivated by exceeding expectations and delivering excellent results, you will have demonstrated ability to recognise where value can be added and the organisational and influencing skills to deliver against these commitments. You will have a track record of providing quality information and advice to management and be comfortable with working with high levels of ambiguity and change. To be successful in this role it is essential to have excellent prioritisation skills and strong analytical skills, complemented with the ability to work across and communicate with all levels of the organisation. Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam with the potential to co-locate between Site and Adelaide based on the developing requirements of the role. Roster arrangements are flexible and open to discussion, however typically operating on a 5/2, 4/3 roster, with residential or FIFO options available.
