We are looking for an enthusiastic and high performing Specialist Mining Engineer to join our Integrated Mine Planning team within Mine Engineering.

About the team: We are part of the RTIO Mine engineering team based in Perth working with cutting-edge technologies and a passion for innovation. Together with identifying opportunities within Mines to support value chain at RTIO in short to medium term, IMP team also strives to uphold exceptional benchmarks and improve systems and procedures.

IMP team also integrates a system-wide view of risk, performance and productivity levers across mines.

We support software development, database management, capability development and drive continuous improvements in mine planning functions ranging from Life of Mine to Daily schedule horizon.

About the role:

This role offers great opportunity for understanding and influencing the short to medium term mine value opportunities across all the Pilbara sites.

You will have the opportunity to interact with Senior leadership and make a substantial contribution to mine planning within RTIO, leaving a lasting impact.

Working within a highly experienced team, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordination of the MTS Quarterly Production Plan (QPP) and Annual plan
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and actively drive positive planning outcomes
  • Support assurance process for short and medium-term plans
  • Support MTS heritage framework
  • Weekly, Monthly reporting and engagements with Senior Leadership team within business
  • Projects aimed at streamlining mine planning processes, fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders across the business

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in short to medium term mine planning in a large open pit mining environment.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamental concepts that underpin value in the mining industry
  • High degree of computer literacy, including knowledge of mine planning software (knowledge of ATS will have preference).
  • Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A current C Class driver’s licence is required

This role is perfect for someone who can thrive on working with data, drive improvement projects and enjoys interacting with Senior Leaders within different parts of business.

 It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience in large scale operations with a mix of operational and planning experience
  • Short to medium term scheduling experience
