Specialist Mining Engineer – Long Term Planning
Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Specialist Mining Engineer to join our Long-Term Planning Team. Reporting to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, this role will be involved in various long term mine planning tasks, including but not limited to mine design, mine plan data report and analysis, mine planning.
To be successful in this role, candidate need to demonstrate good data analysis and critical thinking skills. You will be given an opportunity to learn and grow by working through various mine planning tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver quality sound mine designs (including pit, waste dumps and infrastructures) for long term planning and mining approval
- Contribute to design report for mining approval
- Mine plan data reporting and analysis
- Mine planning and process improvement projects
- Site travel as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mining or similar)
- Knowledge in open pit mining
- mine design knowledge and experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Team orientation and strong ability to take initiative
- Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to provide high quality work
- Computer proficiency (Vulcan, ArcMap)
