About the Role
Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design drill prep, drilling and blasting activities according to site planning systems
- Identify and mitigate plan risks, minimising production disruption
- Complete field leadership activities with a focus on drill and blast and explosives
- Develop and provide explosive forecasting associated with the mine plan
- Maintain working relationships will the drill and blast team to ensure drill patterns are distributed in a timely fashion as not to disrupt the mining cycle.
- Conduct routine inspections of drill patterns to track progress against the weekly schedule target and to identify and rectify any issues that may affect achievement of the weekly schedule in advance
- Manage risk through the application of geotechnical controls in drill and blast design
About You
- Degree in Engineering – Mining.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of drill & blast engineering preferably in open cut coal
- Experience with mine planning packages such as Blastlogic, Vulcan, Spry,Deswick etc
- Well-rounded stakeholder management experience and excellent communication skills
- A strong desire to innovate, problem solve and approach work with new ideas
