About the Role

The role is based at our Perth Office on a Monday to Friday roster, however some travel may be required from time to time. In this role you will provide Senior Network Engineering and Security support as well as governance for Network and Security related projects and support the projects through design, build and transition to support project phases.  This role will also contribute to the broader Infrastructure Engineering capability which is a multi-domain engineering function supporting Minerals Australia projects in hosting, facilities, radio, communications, LTE and wireless technologies.  Being part of this team will give you vast opportunities to develop.  

Accountabilities:

  • Understands and follows BHP core values and Principles;
  • Governs all network related tasks for Network & Firewall related projects, demands and works as required; 
  • Supports inputs into Life of Asset, Technology roadmaps and Life cycle information for capital prioritisation;
  • Works with and supports  Partner Engineers and their technical deliverables as required;
  • Supports relationships with vendors when we need to mobilise outcomes based contractors to support the workload;
  • Supports maintenance of master data in 1SAP and ServiceNow to support Asset Integrity;
  • Supports activities associated with the Corporate Alignment Planning (CAP) routines;
  • Supports creation and review of Roadmap and Infrastructure Standards for Network and Firewalls in appropriate controlled document repository; and
  • Supports operational performance reporting against our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering IT and OT networks, firewalls and wireless networks.
  • Strong technical background with Cisco, ASA, Checkpoint.
  • Demonstrated experience in working under pressure managing multiple ask assignment across multiple projects at the same time with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to Travel to site as and when required.
  • Good understanding of working Safety requirements related to each task and manage and own KPIs related to safety and other areas proactively. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with 3rd party vendors and contractors 
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or IT 
  • Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching 
  • Checkpoint/ASA certifications as well as Solarwinds and ISE experience
