We are looking for a Specialist - Operational Technology Operational Readiness to ensure the smooth integration and readiness of OT systems and applications across our organization. As the subject matter expert in OT, you will play a vital role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the efficient functioning of our technology infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and engineering, to optimize OT systems and maximize their impact on our business.

Reporting to the Manager Production & Technical Systems and working in a collaborative and inclusive team within our global Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) function, you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational readiness activities related to OT systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement processes and best practices for the seamless integration of Mining, AHS, Scheduling and Supply Chain solutions.
  • Assess and analyze the impact of new technologies and projects on existing OT systems and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the readiness of teams for onboarding new systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to coordinate testing, deployment, and support of OT solutions.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of OT systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to operational teams in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to OT systems.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of operational teams in utilizing OT systems effectively.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the OT field and provide recommendations for innovation and improvement.

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Proven experience in Operational Readiness or a similar role, preferably working either in the Projects, Operations or Operational Technology (OT) domain
  • Knowledge of OT systems, Industrial automation, E.g., AHS, Dispatch, Frontrunner, SCADA, PLCs, and MES
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical issues and develop effective solutions
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to remote sites as required

It will also be beneficial if you have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Experience in rail, ports, HME or mining supply chain
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as ISA-95 and IEC 62443
  • Qualifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and/or Agile Frameworks (e.g. SCRUM)
