About the Role

We are seeking a talented Operational Readiness Specialist to join our inclusive and high performing Operational Readiness Adelaide-based team. This technical function provides information handover from a project to operations to ensure safe and productive use of newly installed equipment. As part of this, you will play an integral role in supporting the operational readiness strategy and schedule to identify the timing of tasks. In addition, you will develop a clear view of customer needs and provide in-depth analysis of project schedules engaging in a collaborative manner and utilising BHP systems and process.

This role will be based in Adelaide on a Monday-Friday basis.  Occasional travel to site will be required.

In this role you will:  

  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day – our aim is to deliver works management to reduce risk.
  • Efficiently deliver the operational readiness deliverables for Olympic Dam Integrated Operations, Modifications and Operations Projects.
  • Develop work instructions & isolation documents in alignment with the maintenance strategy and requirements for operations and maintenance tasks.
  • Support Operational Readiness and Project engagement meetings with multiple Stakeholders across Reliability, Production & Maintenance.
  • Work within the SPMF (Small Project Management Framework) and assist in the preparation of detailed reporting to the Projects portfolio team and project sponsors outlining progress according to agreed deliverables. While also identifying risk in cost and schedules and highlighting issues of concern.

About You

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
  • Experience in developing or altering maintenance strategies for fixed plant or mobile fleet.
  • Mechanical/Electrical trade or technical background – with experience in both fixed plant and mobile fleet as well as knowledge of functional safety highly regarded.
  • Sound technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management, Planning & Scheduling processes.
  • Exposure and understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Able to interpret technical manuals, engineering standards and drawings, and consequently communicate effectively with technical specialists, management and operators.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete scheduled tasks in a timely manner with appropriate prioritisation of work.
  • Previous exposure to RCM and FMEA principals.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
