About the Role

The Technology Remote Operations Centre (TROC) Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring that TROC and Service Lines operate with a high level of integrity, using discipline and standardisation to improve technology support services.  This is achieved through close collaboration, open lines of communication and the commitment to deliver on accountabilities.   

Accountabilities 

Your key accountabilities will include: 

  • Analyse TROC 24x7 and Coal PSS shift operations for consistency and best practice across crew rosters and provide technical support to improve procedures, knowledge, monitoring and response activities with the primary goal to predict and prevent technology failures and minimise Mean Time To Restore in the event a technology outage does occur. 
  • Interfacing with TROC shift teams and Technology Service Lines and act as TROC SME for a Service Line area
  • Lead TROC operational readiness and transition to support activities for new or enhanced services. Engaging with service owners and project teams to uplift TROC team support capability and capacity to accept new service scope.
  • Lead the continuous improvement and automation of TROC 24x7 operational monitoring and response support activities
  • Asset health management, ensuring proactive maintenance identification 
  • Conducts incident reviews to ensure resolution approach is best practice
  • Provides input in to the resolution (both reactive and proactive) of problems and assists with identifying repeat incident patterns and root causes & implementation of remedies to prevent future incidents.

About You

  • To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in operational support of critical services in large scale environments.
  • You will be a logical thinker and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills (including root-cause analysis) with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • You will be a multi-tasking team player who can quickly and effectively assess the business impact of changes and incidents. 
  • You will need to lead and coach teams and engage across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • You will have a strong focus on customer service, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • You will be personable individual with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
  • As the preferred candidate, you will ideally have a trade/tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Engineering or related discipline.
