About the Role
BHP is looking for a Specialist OT Operations Technician to work at our Blackwater Mine. The role is responsible for undertaking preventative maintenance and providing technical field support for our operational OT and IT systems including but not limited to: Digital Radio, Fleet Management, High Precision Machine Guidance, Wireless Telemetry and Driver Safety Systems.
In this role you will:
- Ensure day to day Availability and Maintenance of the Fleet Management, Wireless Telemetry and Control Systems.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support teams to resolve priority issues
- Assist the Supervisor Technology Site Operations in identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute to current and potential value to the business from a Site Operations perspective, ensuring compliance to the Change Management Procedure.
- Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.
- Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.
- Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process.
- Ensure returns of unused or reparable materials are processed accurately.
- Validate quality of work performed prior to completion.
- Review and request updates to Work Management and other Master Data as required
- Execute the Maintenance work plan and elevate unplanned and non-routine activity or performance to the Supervisor.
About You
- Trade qualifications as an auto electrician, electronics technician, radio technician or equivalent
- Experience in embedded / industrial computer systems
- Post trade qualification experience in mining environment
- Experience in integrating electrical and electronic accessories to heavy industrial mobile equipment
- Experience in TCP/IP networks
- A high level of PC skills
- Positive and team-focused
