About the Role

Mining Systems WAIO are seeking an experienced Operational Technologist to join our high performing team.

This unique role is fly in fly out from Perth on an 8/6 roster support Eastern & Central Pilbara operations.

The Mining Systems WAIO mission statement is to maintain healthy, high performing and highly available systems to enable aspirational safety and production targets for WAIO Operations. We will achieve this by delivering value adding initiatives and performing our fundamental responsibilities exceptionally well:

  • Incident Management
  • Problem Management
  • Maintenance Activities
  • Minor Works
  • Transition to Operations

Reporting into the Site Supervisor Mining Systems WAIO, you will be responsible for supporting high availability critical OT systems.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ongoing commitment to Zero Harm through Field Leadership, endorsement of quality Risk Assessments and Critical Control Verification. 
  • Demonstrate visible leadership through the understanding of material risks and on-site vigilance including hazard / event identification and investigations. 
  • Developing and maintaining a strong operational network with maintenance and production teams to enable the Technology Function support OT.
  • Execute logical maintenance activities to maintain reliable OT.
  • Collaborate with Mobile Equipment and Infrastructure maintenance teams where physical tasks to maintain technology devices requires configuration or programming support.
  • Work with Perth based Technology teams to risk assess Technology Changes, providing a site perspective and understanding.
  • Participate in problem and Root Cause Analysis investigation for technology incidents.
  • Provide technical input into the creation of maintenance strategies
  • Provide configuration support with the delivery of new equipment

About You

To be successful in the role, you possess a Trade/Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Communications/Electronics/Industrial Electrical. 

Having any of these licenses or certificates or would be favourable but not essential: 

  • ACMA Open Cabling Licence with F, O, C Endorsements
  • Certificate lll in Telecommunications
  • Cisco CCNA

  You will also be able to demonstrate experience in maintaining and supporting IT/OT technology in one or more of the following systems or underpinning technology components: 

  • Fleet Management Systems - MineStar & Modular
  • WIFI, LTE & WTS Networks 
  • Digital Radio Systems
  • Onboard Safety Systems – CAS & DSS

In addition, you will have experience in ServiceNow and SAP tools.
