About the Role
This unique role within BHP Olympic Dam supports the commercial and business aspect of the portfolio via in-depth investigation, analysis and gathering of information. You will be able to identify potential issues and provide analysis to existing issues, outline detailed requirements for a solution and support the solution to meet business requirements.
This position is based in Adelaide, with occasional site travel.
In this role you will:
- Validate proposed investments to maximise commercial and business value
- In collaboration with engineering teams and business stakeholders, analyse financial and performance data of the portfolio e.g. budgets, forecasts, performance KPIs, etc for commercial and business impacts
- Model commercial and business processes and identify improvement opportunities to the portfolio and operational plan
- Collaborate with the broader Portfolio team to provide input into the Corporate Alignment Planning (CAP) process, linking business strategy with projects
- Regularly liaise with other project teams and operational functions across Olympic Dam to provide sharing of knowledge and aid continual improvement in project delivery
- Apply data analysis to investments, business process and operations to identify key themes, guide decision making, improve performance, and identify possible impacts
- Undertake value chain optimisation
- Review the commercial aspects of the projects e.g. contracts and variations, dispute resolution, validating project schedule timeframes to minimise project slippage for delays with supply chain (delivery of equipment and parts), and available contractor resources
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, finance or science
- Solid understanding of project/portfolio management and controls processes and systems
- Sound capability in analytics and financial management
- High attention to detail to assist with projects exceeding KPI's
- Proficiency in technical writing, generating process documentation and reports
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Focused on strategy and confident in stakeholder Influence that can articulate value
- A proactive, self-driven team player who operates with honesty and integrity
- Good time management skills with an ability to managing multiple tasks simultaneously
