We are seeking an experienced Specialist to lead a variety of key procurement activities including managing global data and market analytics for the Facilities category, category strategy development and execution, commercial strategy development & execution, source to contract activities and supplier relationship management.

With responsibility for aerodromes, transport, villages and some towns the role is diverse and challenging
Reporting to the Principal Advisor Facilities Management your remit will include but is not limited to:
- Develop and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships with various Rio Tinto business units, in particular Iron Ore Facilities, to ensure all consumer/stakeholder needs and requirements are met
- Ensure execution of improvement initiatives to reach and exceed business plans
- Identify and develop category management opportunities within Australia and other countries
- Expand our engagement with local and global supplier markets to develop contract register and improve contract compliance
- Strong analytical skills
- Working across the end-to-end procurement process, driving local procurement outcomes and sourcing for operations and capital projects
- Support Momentum Opportunity Tracking including finalisation of actuals against planned opportunities.
- Support Principal Advisor, Facilities in all relevant procurement strategy, activities and related projects
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Extensive hands-on experience in Contracts and Procurement
- Proficient and skilled in framing opportunities and analysis to refine presentations and projects for development and execution.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to summarise key information to deliver clear key messages to diverse audiences.
- Strong negotiation skills to develop agreements for facilities operations with commercial terms that maximise value and minimise risk exposure for Rio Tinto.
- Contribute to an integrated team to deliver joint deliverables with input from diverse internal stakeholders.
- Ability to Partner with key external suppliers and stakeholders to co-develop projects and supply opportunities centred on achieving Rio Tinto’s strategic objectives.
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent qualification in a related discipline including business, commerce or Law. A CIPS Certificate or Diploma in Purchasing or Supply is desirable
