About the role
We are looking for a Production Specialist to provide support for our team at Tom Price - Inland Rail Operations in Western Australia.
The Production Specialist role is a critical leadership role that provides both short and long-term strategic support to Inland Rail Operations across safety, production, projects, partnership, people and cost initiatives. The role is a key interface to internal workgroups, major project teams and also provides coordination and input to the departmental strategy development.
This role is a great opportunity for a strong communicator who has the ability to influence multiple stake holders to ensure safe production goals are met. Working a FIFO role from Perth on a 5/2-4/3 roster reporting directly to the Manager Inland Rail Operations, you will:
- Work closely with the leadership team to contribute towards site improvement and long-term sustainability projects
- Using your strong analytical skills to take a strategic approach towards developing department and operational processes
- Coach and develop site leaders on safe production methodologies
- Identify safety, productivity and cost improvement opportunities
- Assist with conducting risk assessments for project works
- Lead and provide direction to our business analyst
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Strong understanding of rail/mining/port operations
- Experience in SAP reporting, purchasing and budgeting
- High level of computer literacy
- Strong communication and influencing skills
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Business improvement background
- Project and contractor management experience
Where you will be working
Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our integrated production process and services our 15 mines across the Pilbara via 1,700km of track. With depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert and Dampier (7 Mile) we operate a fleet of 51 consists (221 locomotives/14000 ore cars) that operate autonomously across the majority of the rail network.
