About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Surface Planning, you will provide specialist advice and execute tasks relating to:
- Development and communication of the short-term production plans
- Production schedule optimisation through scenario modelling to enable effective operation of the Surface Metallurgical Plant, and;
- Production Accounting and Reporting processes to ensure accurate tracking of material movement and inventory to comply with financial reporting for SOX requirements
This role is based at Olympic Dam and be offered as FIFO or Residential on a 5/2, 4/3 roster (with flex)
In this role you will:
- Leverage your plant knowledge and experience to develop and optimise weekly and monthly forecasts through the use of modelling and scenario tools.
- Stock forecast and management for the Surface Metallurgical plant
- Manage the development of the production of the Week +1 schedule and subsequent hand over to Production
- Conduct end of month processes including stocktake, metal balancing and work in progress reporting
- Build cross functional relationships with the Operations sub-functions (Execution, Development and Planning), Mine, Engineering and NPI and other Functional groups i.e. Planning and Technical, Marketing, Finance, Technology
- Conduct process confirmation of surface performance routines and facilitate root cause problem solving to identify improvement projects and supporting delivery where required
- Communicate risks and opportunities in the production forecast to be able to guide the Technical and Production teams in the development of forecasts to exploit opportunities and mitigate risks to extract maximum value through the surface processing plant
About You
- Experience in mineral processing (or similar)
- Comfortable working with data, highly capable of working with stakeholders, formulating meaningful business cases and influencing decisions
- Well-developed analytical and critical assessment skills
- Degree qualified in Metallurgy, Chemical or Process Engineering or an aligned discipline
