About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent Execution Project Control, you will provide earned value management and analytical support to the Major Shutdown Project Team and department. The remit of this role includes the collection, analysis, management, and reporting of all Project Shutdown Costs in a time critical manner. This includes the systems and processes that collect, analyse and manage budgeting and forecasting expenditure and project management reporting. This role is based in our Central Queensland Office and can be offered on a variety of flexible commute and residential options. In this role you will:  

  • Analyse and report to the project management team the shutdown(SD) running project Estimate at Completion (EAC) Cost Report, identify risks and required mitigating actions with team
  • Analyse and report to the project management team the productivity effects on labour profile levels and project duration, including future labour requirement
  • Analyse contractor hours to calculate project burnt hours on a daily basis. Support the Project Admin assistant to consolidate contractor timesheet hours – Review all vendor/contractor timesheet hours using supporting documents such as the Site Admin File (SAF)    
  • Raising of all Indirect Cost Purchase Requisitions against the project work orders
  • The timely management of planning and approvals for all Scope Amendment and Emergent Work requests during the project optimisation and execution phases
  • Provide timely input into the monthly finance timetable for forecast project cost and accruals
  • Gather, collate and analyse all information required for the Weekly SD Management Report during the mobilisation, execution and demobilisation phases.
  • Identification of improvement initiatives/projects to support the delivery of the 5year plan
  • Ensuring Vendors submit weekly invoicing throughout the shutdown, while processing and tracking all SES claims to ensure visibility of project costs.
  • Facilitate post shutdown reviews and reporting, such as Metrics analysis, Lessons Learned workshop and reporting and Close-out Reporting with A&I of Actuals Vs budget

About You

  • Experience in a Cost-based Project role
  • Understanding of project scoping, planning and scheduling that support the cost process is advantageous
  • Ability to prioritise multiple deliverables in a schedule driven and time-critical environments
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to support cross-departmental engagement and effective communication throughout multiple levels of the business and external vendors
  • Experience with SAP, MS Project and Power BI will be advantageous
  • Technical/operational experience with Dragline and Electric Shovels will be advantageous
