The Opportunity - Specialist Project - based in Collie - 9-day fortnight working arrangement on offer

The purpose of this role is to provide and deliver a selection of projects within the Worsley Capital Portfolio which are well-planned and cost-effective in delivering solutions that meet business requirements, through strong leadership and collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers.
Located in the picturesque south-west and Peel regions of Western Australia, South32 Worsley Alumina is on a journey to become the world’s leading Alumina producer where our 1500 workforce value the lifestyle that Worsley Alumina has to offer.
Our integrated Bauxite Mine, Alumina Refinery and Port Operation is creating the essential products needed for a sustainable low carbon future.
This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.
Location
This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.
Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities are to:
- Ensure that all projects are developed and delivered from concept to closeout in accordance with the South32 project management framework;
- Single point project leadership in delivering projects to approved scope, timeframes and budgets
- Provide safety leadership throughout the project life cycle that is aligned to the South32 values;
- Ensure all project design and execution risks are identified and well managed;
- Manage project cost and tollgate forecasts on a live basis
- Pro-actively engage with all internal and external stakeholders and ensure solutions and specification’s are fit for purpose and agreed
- Project scope, budget and schedule variations are adequately change managed;
- Prepare and communicate monthly project reports;
About You
- Project management qualification
- Engineering or technical trade qualification within Electrical, Process or Mechanical disciplines highly desirable
- Several years’ experience in delivering projects of varying complexity and budget ($500k to $5M) throughout the full project lifecycle in a brownfields environment within the resources industry;
- Experience in developing and managing/delivering multiple projects simultaneously;
- A sound technical knowledge and understanding of mining and resources projects;
- A sound understanding with proven experience in developing and managing schedules and budgets;
