About the Role

Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent of Mobile Equipment Maintenance and joining an inclusive and high performing team, the Reliability Engineer plays an integral role in achieving long-term, measurable improvements in safety, performance and efficiency of our Mobile fleet.

You will help drive the Jimblebar’s strategic plan with the following responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and analysis of equipment defects and maintenance downtime to define department priorities and metrics
  • Lead Reliability-centred maintenance best practice through the application of Defect Elimination processes, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys and Failure Mode Effect Cause Analysis
  • Provide technical support and recommendations based on Root Cause Analysis and benchmarking findings
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve fleet performance whilst reducing maintenance costs
  • Analyse equipment life cycles and determine fleet capability based on the 2 year Production plan, providing input into the development of the capital and operational budget for the area

About You

To be successful in the role, candidates should demonstrate a team-oriented mindset and solution focused attitude. We will be looking for people with the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Operational knowledge of Mining Equipment fleet preferable (CAT, Liebherr and Epiroc)
  • Experience in reliability maintenance programs will be beneficial
  • Proficiency in 1SAP maintenance components preferable
  • Ability to influence, engage with & communicate effectively across multiple levels, business units and functional areas

Location

You will be based at our new ‘Jimblebar’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out roster. Jimblebar is the first Greenfield mine in over 40 years to be both developed and operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore and is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia.  The outstanding facilities at the  FIFO village include a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, golf driving nets, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court; beach volleyball court and games room. All rooms at the village have access to 3G wireless internet and Skype, an ensuite bathroom, flat screen television, refrigerator and air-conditioning
